I've wanted to check this place out for a minute. We live close by and always notice the long lines. We are real picky with Chinese food having been to HK several times. We like to think we know good and bad HK style food. This place is the real deal. We came here during the week for an early lunch. It was still relatively busy. We opted to sit outside with a table close to the HK Taxi Cab. That was really cool to see that in the USA. It really transports you back to HK. I ordered a Jumbo HK Style Pineapple Bun with Egg and Pork Chop. The pineapple bun was very good. It was fresh with a moist and soft inside with a nice flaky crunch on the outside. It gets very messy eating the Bun with many crumbs falling onto your plate. You're not alone! The Pork Chop is cooked well and very juicy and tender. I highly recommend that you order this dish. The wife order some kind of combination of HK Noodle Soup. She really liked the flavor of the broth and really enjoyed the soup. That's high praise from her as she's very picky about the soups in the USA. We also ordered a side of the Soy Sauce Chow Mein. The chow mein was good and I got addicted to eating it. I couldn't stop and I added some sriracha for some added spice. Alice's is a legit HK style cafe. I strongly recommend you to try their delicious food.

I really enjoyed the food that I had at Alice's Kitchen! I was there for breakfast, and the cart noodle menu option is really good. I got pig intestine, beef tripe, curry fishballs, and the seasonal vegetables. The egg noodles were cooked well, and everything tasted great! The interior is clean and well decorated, with a lot of decor paying homage to Hong Kong and its culture. They even had a Hong Kong taxi outside when I visited! The staff was attentive and nice, and I would definitely go there any time I'm in the Monterey Park area.

I been enjoying meals at Alice's Restaurant for many years, and their food is consistently excellent. I highly recommend everyone to try it at least once. The wait line can be long, and street parking is crowded at times, but this just shows how much people love their authentic Hong Kong food. Their jumbo HK style pineapple bun is a MUST ORDER item. With many options for fillings, the combination of a soft interior and slightly crisp exterior makes it the best pineapple bun I ever had. The minced pork with egg and rice is delicious. Once you take the first bite, it's hard to stop. It's a bit salty, but the rice balances it out perfectly. The HK style noodle soup is one of my favorites. No matter the time, it's always comforting and heartwarming. With a variety of side options, there are endless combinations to try. The indoor space has a nostalgic old school Hong Kong vibe that I love. Although their outdoor space is larger, I always prefer sitting inside to fully enjoy the 80s-90s Hong Kong atmosphere.

You want some good ol'comfort food? This is your place. Plenty of seats inside and out. Straight forward and no frills! We got seated right away and food came out when it was prepared. If you want to enjoy simple toasts or buns, we sandwhiched our dinner with both. Enjoy the pineapple buns with butter fresh and hot! We probably should have done the same with the ovaltine toast but it still was great as a dessert. Spicy salt pork chops and squid ... hit the spot! You can see I like that flavor. Had to get two kinds of proteins. Beef curry was comforting and tasty!

One of my husband's favorites- I'll admit it's pretty good considering we all have different tastes. Husband loves the salty/savory dishes, I love the sweet dishes, and my kids love the carb dishes. Highly recommend coming here if all of you have different taste buds. My favorite part is the unlimited condensed milk at the table.

Alice's Kitchen transports you to Hong Kong with its decor and the red taxi parked next to the outdoor dining area. Alice's is an HK Style cafe with breakfast combo sets, French toast, noodles, milk tea, and congee. Remember, it's cash only here. Jumbo HK Style Pineapple Bun with Egg and Pork Chop: The pineapple bun (bolo bao) here is really good. (Order some pineapple buns on their own for the table.) The crispy, crumbly, sweet topping kind of resembles a pineapple. The bun is fluffy and chewy on the inside. The pork chop is juicy and crispy at its edges. Tangy tomatoes and a zesty aioli provide a sweet and savory (and a little garlicky) flavor. A fried egg oozes golden yolk. The crumbly bits fall like cookie crumbs on your plate. Dining Area: There are tables inside, and there's a giant tented area on the side by the taxi. Parking: There's a parking lot to the side of the restaurant.

Date & Time: Saturday, 2/17/24 @ 12:30pm Alice's Kitchen is a staple HK style cafe in the 626 serving up all your Cantonese favorites. There was a bit of a wait when I arrived, but there are a lot of tables so don't be discouraged by the amount of people waiting! * HK Style Noodles in Soup * (4/5) Love that you can fully customize your bowl of noodles by choosing your soup base, type of noodle, and 4 toppings. I chose the satay base, instant noodle, and shiitake, curry fishball, beef tripe, and spam. The dish also comes with 2 pieces of veggies! * Steam Four Roll with House Special Sauce * (3/5) This dish is just plain steamed rice rolls that are dressed in their house special sauce, but I think it's just peanut butter and hoisin sauce. Nothing really spectacular about this dish, but it's simple and also super cheap. * Ovaltine French Toast * (4/5) By the looks of it I thought this was just classic HK french toast dusted with Ovaltine on top, but I was in for a surprise when I cut it open and condensed milk started gushing out. It's definitely a major sugar overload, but also so good! I think the condensed milk is also diluted so it's not too sweet.

First time trying Alice's Kitchen and it did not disappoint! I came on a rainy Saturday morning for their breakfast. There's a small parking lot with only a few spots, but I was able to find street parking. There's indoor and lots of outdoor seating so we only waited about 5-10 minutes for a table. We made it just on time for breakfast, which is from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM. We tried the following items: Pork and preserved egg porridge with Chinese donut. Also comes with a drink and I chose the HK style milk tea - $12.50 HK style noodle soup (flat rice noodle with HK Dan Dan Satay Base and your choice of 4 items/toppings) - $15.25 and comes in a big bowl! HK style Pineapple Bun with Butter - $4.99 for two Fried French Toast with Condense Milk - $7.75 (we basically ordered the Ovaltine French toast without the Ovaltine because we wanted a fried French toast and not a regular toast) Everything was so good! It was a lot of food for two people and we were stuffed at the end. I thought the pricing was fair, especially for the amount of food we had. The server was also nice and everything came out quickly. Will definitely be back again.
